Sex offender registration-administration.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to the
registration of sex offenders;
2
modifying registration provisions as specified; and
3
providing for an effective date.

5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:
6
7 Section
1. W.S. 7-19-302(b) and (c)(ii) is amended to
8
read:
9
10 7-19-302. Registration of offenders;
procedure;
11 verification.
12
13 (b) In addition
to the requirements of subsection (a)
14 of this section, the department, for
aggravated sex
15 offenders sentenced to imprisonment,
and the sentencing 16
court sheriff of the
county where judgment and sentence is

1 entered for all other aggravated sex offenders,
shall
2
obtain the name of the sex offender, identifying factors,
3
anticipated future residence, offense history and
4
documentation of any treatment received, including
5
prescribed psychotropic medication history, for any mental
6
abnormality or personality disorder of the aggravated sex
7
offender. This information shall be transmitted to the
8
division within three (3)
working days of receipt for
9
entry into the central registration system. A person found
10 to be a sexually violent predator by
a sentencing court in
11 another state shall provide
information required under this
12 subsection at the time of
registration under this act.
13
14 (c) Offenders
required to register under this act
15 shall register with the entities
specified in this
16 subsection and within the following time
periods:
17
18 (ii) Offenders
who are convicted of an offense
19 subjecting them to registration
under this act but who are
20 not sentenced to a term of
confinement shall register
21 immediately after the imposition of
the sentence. The clerk 22
of the sentencing court sheriff of the county where the
23 judgment and sentence is entered shall register
the

and perform the related duties specified in W.S.

7-19-305;

4 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2001.
