Child health insurance program amendments.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to the child health insurance program;
 2  expanding coverage under the child health insurance program
 3  as specified; conforming provisions; and providing for an
 4  effective date.

 5 

 6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 7 

 8         Section 1.  W.S. 35-25-101(a)(ii) and 35-25-103(a)(i)
 9  and (ii) are amended to read:

10 

11         35-25-101.  Uninsured child health insurance program.

12 

13         (a)  There is created a child health insurance program
14  for families with:

 1              (ii)  Maximum gross monthly income at or below
 2  one hundred fifty percent (150%) two hundred percent (200%)
 3  of the federal poverty level.

 4 

 5       35-25-103.  Child health insurance program
 6  description, eligibility and duties.

 7 

 8         (a)  Subject to approval of the state plan by the
 9  United States secretary of health and human services, the
10  department shall provide:

11 

12              (i)  Medical assistance, including those services
13  authorized under the Wyoming Medical Assistance and
14  Services Act, to an eligible child under this act whose
15  gross family income is at or below one hundred thirty-three
16  percent (133%) one hundred fifty percent (150%) of the
17  federal poverty level;

18 

19              (ii)  Vouchers pursuant to W.S. 35-25-104 to the
20  parents or guardians of an eligible child under this act
21  whose gross family income is more than one hundred thirty-
22  three percent (133%) one hundred fifty percent (150%), but
23  not more than one hundred fifty percent (150%)
two hundred
24  percent (200%) of the federal poverty level.

 2         Section 2.  This act is effective immediately upon
 3  completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
 4  as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
 5  Constitution.
