1 AN ACT relating to peace
officers; clarifying the

definition of livestock board investigators and brand
3
inspectors as peace officers as specified; and providing
4
for an effective date.

6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:
7

1. W.S.
6-1-104(a)(vi)(F) and
9
7-2-101(a)(iv)(E) are amended to read:
10
11 6-1-104. Definitions.

13 (a) As used in
W.S. 6-1-101 through 6-10-203 unless
14 otherwise defined:

1 (vi) "Peace
officer" includes the following
2
officers assigned to duty in the state of Wyoming:
3
4 (F) Investigators and brand inspectors
of
5
the Wyoming livestock board authorized under
W.S. 11-20-201 6 who have qualified pursuant to W.S. 9-1-701 through 9-1-707
7
when:
8
9 (I) Enforcing W.S. 11-19-101
through 10
11-24-115 and 11-29-101 through 11-30-113 6-3-201, 6-3-203,
11 6-3-401 through 6-3-403,
6-3-407, 6-3-410, 6-3-601 through
12 6-3-603, 6-3-607, 6-3-610 through 6-3-612, 6-9-202,
13 35-10-101, 35-10-102 and 35-10-104, the provisions of title
14 11 and any laws prohibiting theft or mutilation of
15 livestock or any part thereof and any rule or regulation
16 promulgated by the Wyoming livestock board or any other law
17 for which they are granted statutory enforcement authority;
18
19 (II) Responding to a request to assist
20 another
peace officer performing his official duty; or
21
22 (III) Enforcing a valid arrest warrant
23 for
any crime.

3 (a) As used in W.S. 7-2-101 through 7-2-105:

5 (iv) "Peace officer" means:

7 (E) Investigators and brand inspectors
of
8
the Wyoming livestock board authorized under
W.S. 11-18-101 9
through 11-18-113 and 11-20-201 or
duly authorized 10
investigators of the Wyoming livestock board who
have
11 qualified pursuant to W.S. 9-1-701
through 9-1-707:

14 (I) When enforcing
W.S. 11-19-101 15
through 11-24-115 and 11-29-101 through 11-30-113 6-3-201,
16 6-3-203, 6-3-401
through 6-3-403, 6-3-407, 6-3-410, 6-3-601
17 through 6-3-603, 6-3-607, 6-3-610 through 6-3-612, 6-9-202,
18 35-10-101, 35-10-102 and 35-10-104, the provisions of title
19 11 and any laws prohibiting theft, killing or mutilation of
20 livestock or any part thereof and any rule or regulation
21 promulgated by the Wyoming livestock board or any other law
22 for which they are granted statutory enforcement authority;
