FIFTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING

AN ACT relating to the geological survey board; modifying
membership as specified; and providing for an effective
date.

 

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 

Section 1.  W.S. 9-2-807(a) is amended to read:

 

9-2-807.  Geological survey board; created;
membership; term; qualifications; removal; vacancies;
election of officers; meetings; quorum; compensation;
expenses; duties.

 

(a)  The geological survey board is created. The board
consists of eight (8) members, including the governor, the
president of the University of Wyoming or his designee, the
state oil and gas supervisor and five (5) members appointed
for four (4) year terms by the governor with the consent of
the senate, but not more than three (3) of whom shall be
from the same political party. The five (5) members shall
be qualified electors of the state who possess the
knowledge, experience and skill to qualify them for the
position. The governor may remove any appointed member as
provided in W.S. 9-1-202. Vacancies shall be filled by the
governor for the unexpired term. The state geologist is an
ex officio member of the board.

Section 2.  This act is effective immediately upon
completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
Constitution.
