AN ACT relating to the
Wyoming Pharmacy Technician Act;
modifying
requirements imposed upon pharmacy technicians
and technician
supervision requirements as specified; and
providing for an
effective date.
Be It Enacted
by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:
Section 1. W.S. 33-24-301(c),
(d) and (e) is amended
to read:
33-24-301. Pharmacy technicians;
licensing;
definitions;
revocation or suspension of license; letter of
admonition.
(c) A pharmacy
technician shall not perform pharmacy
functions or be present in the prescription department unless
under the direct supervision of a licensed
pharmacist.
(d) A licensed
pharmacist shall be jointly
responsible and liable
for the actions of a pharmacy
technician when direct
supervision is required. A licensed
pharmacist shall
directly supervise no more than two (2)
pharmacy technicians
at any time.
(e) A pharmacy
technician shall register and pay a
fee to be licensed by
the board before performing any
pharmacy functions. The applicant shall provide relevant
information pertaining
to criminal, substance abuse,
professional liability
and licensure or certification
history. A pharmacy technician
license shall be renewed
annually upon payment
of the required renewal fee and upon
providing information
required.
