Former state employees-contract employment.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to state employees; prohibiting a full time
 2  state employee who separates from service from at-will
 3  contract employment with the state for specified time
 4  period; and providing for an effective date.

 5 

 6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 7 

 8         Section 1.  W.S. 9-2-1022(a)(xi)(F) by creating a new
 9  subdivision (VI) is amended to read:

10 

11         9-2-1022.  Duties of department performed through
12  human resources division.

13 

14         (a)  Subject to subsection (b) of this section, the
15  department through the human resources division shall:

17              (xi)  Promulgate reasonable rules:

 2                   (F)  Necessary to administer a program
 3  whereby at-will contract employees may be utilized by
 4  agencies to meet programmatic needs. These rules shall be
 5  structured so that:

 6 

 7                         (VI)  A full time employee of the state
 8  who separates from service by retirement or otherwise shall
 9  not receive an at-will employment contract with the state
10  until at least five (5) years after the date of separation
11  from full time state employment.

13         Section 2.  This act is effective July 1, 2001.
