Sex offender registration-sexual exploitation of children.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to sex offender registration; adding sexual
 2  exploitation of children to the list of offenses for which
 3  sex offender registration is required; and providing for an
 4  effective date.

 5 

 6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 7 

 8         Section 1.  W.S. 7-19-301(a)(iv) by creating a new
 9  subparagraph (G) and by amending and renumbering
10  subparagraph (G) as (H) is amended to read:

12         7-19-301.  Definitions.

13 

14         (a)  For purposes of this act:

15 

16              (iv)  "Criminal offense against a minor" means
17  the offenses specified in this paragraph in which the

 1  victim is less than eighteen (18) years of age. "Criminal
 2  offense against a minor" includes an offense committed in
 3  another jurisdiction, including a federal court or courts
 4  martial, which, if committed in this state, would
 5  constitute a "criminal offense against a minor" as defined
 6  in this paragraph. "Criminal offense against a minor"
 7  includes:

 9                   (G)  Sexual exploitation of a child under
10  W.S. 6-4-303;

11 

12                   (G)(H)  An attempt to commit an offense
13  described in subparagraphs (A) through (F) (G) of this
14  paragraph.

16         Section 2.  This act is effective July 1, 2001.
