Mayoral pay.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to cities and towns; amending provisions
 2  regulating mayoral pay and pay of councilmen acting under
 3  city manager government as specified; and providing for an
 4  effective date.

 5 

 6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 7 

 8         Section 1.  W.S. 15-2-103, 15-4-105(a)(i) and (c)(i)
 9  and 15-4-201(b) are amended to read:

11         15-2-103.  Officers; salaries.

12 

13  The governing body shall fix the salaries for the mayor and
14  councilmen in towns not operating under the commission or
15  city manager form of government. The salaries shall be
16  fixed before their terms begin and shall not change during
17  the term for which they are elected. The salary for mayor

 1  shall be paid in twelve (12) or more installments and may
 2  not exceed the maximum of four thousand eight hundred
 3  dollars ($4,800.00) fourteen thousand four hundred dollars
 4  ($14,400.00) per year. The salary for each councilman shall
 5  be not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than fifty
 6  dollars ($50.00) for actual attendance at each regular or
 7  special meeting. All appointed officers shall receive the
 8  salary or compensation as provided by law or ordinance.

10         15-4-105.  Officers and employees; offices; office
11  hours; salaries.

13         (a)  The mayor, commissioners and other officers as
14  provided by ordinance shall have offices in the city hall
15  and shall maintain regular office hours to be fixed by
16  ordinance. The compensation of the city officers shall be
17  paid in monthly installments not to exceed the following
18  maximum amounts per year:

20              (i)  Mayor, twenty-four thousand dollars
21  ($24,000.00) seventy-two thousand dollars ($72,000.00);

 1         (c)  In cities and towns having an assessed valuation
 2  of fifteen million dollars ($15,000,000.00) or less, the
 3  annual salaries shall not exceed the following:

 4 

 5              (i)  Mayor, five thousand one hundred dollars
 6  ($5,100.00) fifteen thousand three hundred dollars
 7  ($15,300.00);

 8 

 9         15-4-201.  Council officers; election; duties;
10  compensation.

11 

12         (b)  The salary for each councilman, including the
13  mayor, shall be not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more
14  than fifty dollars ($50.00) one hundred fifty dollars
15  ($150.00), as the council establishes by ordinance, for
16  actual attendance at each regular or special meeting.

18         Section 2.  This act is effective July 1, 2001.
