Public health services-fees.

A BILL
for
1 An ACT relating to
public health offices; authorizing
2
public health offices to charge fees for services as
3 specified;
providing exceptions; repealing conflicting
4
provisions; clarifying appointments that may be made by
5
local boards of health; and providing for an effective
6
date.

8 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

10 Section
1. W.S. 35-1-305(a)(intro) and
11 35-1-306(e)(intro) are amended to read:
12
13 35-1-305. Appointment of health
officers and other
14 personnel generally; local board of health may fix fees for
15 certain services.

1 (a) In the
counties, municipalities or districts
2
where health departments are created, as provided herein,
3 the
local board of health may appoint a full time or part
4
time health officer, deputy health officers, public health
5
nurses, sanitarians, environmental health
specialists and
6
such other public health personnel as may be deemed
7
necessary to adequately protect the public health. The
8
local board of health may fix reasonable fees and charges
9 for
the following services, only: except for follow-up of
10 communicable
diseases. No person shall be denied
necessary
11 nursing services
within the limits of available personnel
12 because of an
inability to pay the cost of such services.

4 Section 3. This act is effective immediately upon
5
completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
6 as
provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
7
Constitution.
