Geological survey board membership.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to the geological survey board; modifying
 2  membership as specified; and providing for an effective
 3  date.

 4 

 5  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 6 

 7         Section 1.  W.S. 9-2-807(a) is amended to read:

 8 

 9         9-2-807.  Geological survey board; created;
10  membership; term; qualifications; removal; vacancies;
11  election of officers; meetings; quorum; compensation;
12  expenses; duties.

14         (a)  The geological survey board is created. The board
15  consists of eight (8) members, including the governor, the
16  president of the University of Wyoming or his designee, the

 1  state oil and gas supervisor and five (5) members appointed
 2  for four (4) year terms by the governor with the consent of
 3  the senate, but not more than three (3) of whom shall be
 4  from the same political party. The five (5) members shall
 5  be qualified electors of the state who possess the
 6  knowledge, experience and skill to qualify them for the
 7  position. The governor may remove any appointed member as
 8  provided in W.S. 9-1-202. Vacancies shall be filled by the
 9  governor for the unexpired term. The state geologist is an
10  ex officio member of the board.

12         Section 2.  This act is effective immediately upon
13  completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
14  as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
15  Constitution.
