Driver's education.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to drivers' licenses; requiring persons to
 2  undergo driver's education if cited for a traffic violation
 3  within two years of being issued an initial driver's
 4  license; and providing for an effective date.

 5 

 6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 7 

 8         Section 1.  W.S. 31-7-129 by creating a new subsection
 9  (c) is amended to read:

11         31-7-129.  Discretionary suspension of license.

13         (c)  If a licensee is issued a citation for a moving
14  violation within two (2) years of the initial issuance of a
15  driver's license in the state, the licensee shall provide
16  proof satisfactory to the division that, as a condition of

 1  retaining his driving privileges, the licensee has
 2  completed subsequent to the issuance of the citation a
 3  driver's education course that is approved by the division. 
 4  If the licensee fails to enroll in a driver's education
 5  course within sixty (60) days or fails to complete the
 6  course within one hundred eighty (180) days after the
 7  issuance of the citation, the division may suspend the
 8  driver's license issued under this act until such time as
 9  the licensee complies with the requirements under this
10  subsection.

12         Section 2.  This act is effective July 1, 2001.
