Collective bargaining contract period.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to collective bargaining for fire fighters;
 2  modifying the maximum duration of contracts resulting from
 3  collective bargaining; and providing for an effective date.

 4 

 5  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 6 

 7         Section 1.  W.S. 27-10-104 and 27-10-108 are amended
 8  to read:

 9 

10         27-10-104.  Obligation of city, town or county to meet
11  with agent after written notice; written contract of
12  agreement.

13 

14  It shall be the obligation of the city, town or county,
15  through its corporate authorities, to meet and confer in
16  good faith with the representative or representatives of

 1  the bargaining agent within ten (10) days after receipt of
 2  written notice from said bargaining agent of the request
 3  for a meeting for collective bargaining purposes. This
 4  obligation shall include the duty to cause any agreement
 5  resulting from negotiations to be reduced to a written
 6  contract, provided that no such contract shall exceed the
 7  term of one (1) year two (2) years.

 8 

 9         27-10-108.  Collective bargaining contract; duration
10  of contract.

11 

12  Any agreements actually negotiated between the bargaining
13  agent and the corporate authorities either before, or
14  within thirty (30) days after arbitration, shall constitute
15  the collective bargaining contract governing fire fighters
16  and said city, town or county for the period stated therein
17  provided that term of such contract shall not exceed one
18  (1) year two (2) years.

20         Section 2.  This act shall not apply to contracts
21  resulting from collective bargaining negotiations commenced
22  prior to July 1, 2001.
