Rental or leased property-registration.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to motor vehicles; providing for the
 2  registration of rental or leased machinery as specified;
 3  providing for rulemaking and enforcement by the department
 4  of revenue as specified; and providing for an effective
 5  date.

 6 

 7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 8 

 9         Section 1.  W.S. 31-18-207(c) and by creating a new
10  subsection (e) is amended to read:

11 

12         31-18-207.  Rental or leased machinery.

13 

14         (c)  Upon receiving authorization under subsection (b)
15  of this section, the owner shall collect from the user a
16  registration fee in the amount equivalent to one-half of

 1  one percent (0.5%) of the amount of the rental or lease
 2  payment. No later than the twentieth day of the January
 3  following, the owner shall submit a calendar year report,
 4  using forms which shall be furnished by the department of
 5  revenue, to the county treasurer in which the mobile
 6  machinery is used, together with the remittance for all
 7  taxes collected for the preceding calendar year.

 8 

 9         (e)  The department of revenue shall promulgate rules
10  and regulations for the administration and enforcement of
11  this section.

12 

13         Section 2.  This act is effective July 1, 2001.
