Consumer health provisions.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to public health and safety; providing for
 2  the administration and enforcement of consumer health
 3  provisions; requiring a plan making recommendations
 4  regarding the administration and enforcement of consumer
 5  health provisions; and providing for an effective date.

 6 

 7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 8 

 9         Section 1.

11         (a)  The director of the department of health in
12  conjunction and cooperation with the director of the
13  department of agriculture shall prepare a plan for the
14  administration and enforcement of consumer health
15  provisions including:

16 

17              (i)  Sanitation of public institutions;

 2              (ii)  The dispensing of information on sanitation
 3  to the public;

 4 

 5              (iii)  Inspection of public buildings and
 6  grounds;

 7 

 8              (iv)  Inspection of public water supply systems
 9  for sanitary purposes including the use of water employed
10  in the irrigation of vegetables or other edible crops
11  intended for human consumption;

12 

13              (v)  Inspection of public pools and spas;

14 

15              (vi)  Inspection of child day care centers;

16 

17              (vii)  Integration of sanitation inspection and
18  enforcement with the food safety program and the fire
19  safety program.

20 

21         (b)  The plan shall be submitted to the governor and
22  the joint labor, health and social services interim
23  committee on or before October 15, 2001. The plan shall
24  specifically make recommendations regarding the

 1  administration and enforcement of the consumer health
 2  provisions enumerated in subsection (a) of this section,
 3  including recommendations for statutory changes.

 4 

 5         Section 2.  This act is effective immediately upon
 6  completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
 7  as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
 8  Constitution.
