Board of coroner standards-background checks.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to the
board of coroner standards;
2 authorizing
the board of coroner standards to adopt
3
employment standards; prohibiting deputy coroners and
4
coroner employees from serving if standards are not met;
5
requiring deputy coroners and coroner employees to provide
6
board access to criminal history records information; and
7
providing for an effective date.

9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

11 Section 1. W.S.
7-4-103 by creating a new subsection
12 (d) and 7-4-211(c) by creating a new
paragraph (v) are
13 amended to read:
14
15 7-4-103. Certification requirements;
penalty;
16 expenses.

2 (d) No person shall
serve as deputy coroner or as an
3 employee of a county coroner who does
not meet the
4 employment standards adopted by the
board of coroner
5 standards pursuant to W.S. 7-4-211(c)(v).

7 7-4-211. Board of coroner standards.

9 (c) The board shall:
10
11 (v) Promulgate employment standards for deputy
12 coroners
and coroner employees. The standards may include
13 the
requirement that deputy coroners and coroner employees
14 provide
to the board fingerprints and other information
15 necessary
for a criminal history record background check
16 and
release of information as provided in W.S.
17 7-19-106(k)(ii)(A).

19 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2001.
