Medicaid-provision of services.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to services for Medicaid recipients;
 2  allowing Medicaid recipients to get mental health services
 3  from licensed health professionals in addition to mental
 4  health centers or physicians; and providing for an
 5  effective date.

 6 

 7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 8 

 9         Section 1.  W.S. 42-4-103(a)(xx) is amended to read:

10 

11         42-4-103.  Authorized services and supplies.

12 

13         (a)  Services and supplies authorized for medical
14  assistance under this chapter include:

 1              (xx)  Mental health services provided by a
 2  licensed psychologist, certified mental health center or
 3  clinic and certified mental health services furnished to
 4  qualified recipients by a licensed physician or under the
 5  direction of a physician if an individual treatment plan is
 6  established in writing, approved and periodically reviewed
 7  by a licensed physician. The department of health shall by
 8  rule and regulation or within the state plan for medical
 9  assistance and services, define those services qualifying
10  as mental health services under this paragraph and,
11  pursuant to W.S. 9-2-102, shall establish standards for
12  certification under this paragraph and publish a procedure
13  to certify mental health centers, clinics and licensed
14  psychologists that is consistent with federal Medicare
15  standards for service reimbursement;

17         Section 2.  This act is effective July 1, 2001.
