Mineral enhancement study.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to
taxation and revenue; providing for a
2
study for the enhancement of minerals as specified;
3 requiring
a report; and providing for an effective date.

5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

9 (a) The
department of revenue, in conjunction with
10 the Wyoming oil and gas conservation
commission and in
11 consultation with the mineral industry,
shall conduct a
12 study of mineral enhancement in this state.
The study shall
13 include consideration of incentives
including elimination
14 of an increased severance tax for mineral
enhancement
15 performed within the borders of this state.
The study shall
16 also include a review of current methods
being used for
17 mineral enhancement in this state.

2 (b) The
department shall report the results of the

study, including any recommendations for legislation, to
4 the
governor and the joint revenue interim committee not
5
later than October 15, 2001.

7 Section 2. This
act is effective immediately upon
8
completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
9 as
provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
10 Constitution.
