Controlled substances-enforcement.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to the Wyoming Controlled Substances Act;
 2  including police officers of the University of Wyoming and
 3  community colleges as law enforcement officers for purposes
 4  of the act; and providing for an effective date.

 5 

 6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 7 

 8         Section 1.  W.S. 35-7-1002(a)(xxiv) is amended to
 9  read:

11         35-7-1002.  Definitions.

12 

13         (a)  As used in this act:

14 

15              (xxiv)  "Law enforcement officer" means any
16  sheriff, undersheriff or sheriff's deputy of any county of
17  this state, any duly authorized municipal policeman of any

 1  city or town of this state, any member of the Wyoming
 2  highway patrol, any police officer of the University of
 3  Wyoming or any Wyoming community college who is a peace
 4  officer, or any special agent employed by the commissioner
 5  under this act;

 6 

 7         Section 2.  This act is effective immediately upon
 8  completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
 9  as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
10  Constitution.
