A BILL

 

for

 

 1  A JOINT RESOLUTION proposing to make the constitution
 2  gender neutral; excepting the provisions which already
 3  refer to both masculine and feminine genders; omitting
 4  executed provisions.

 5 

 6  BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING,
 7  two-thirds of all the members of the two houses, voting
 8  separately, concurring therein:

10         Section 1.  The following proposal to create Wyoming
11  Constitution, Article 19, Section 12 is proposed for
12  submission to the electors of the State of Wyoming at the
13  next general election for approval or rejection to become
14  valid as a part of the Constitution if ratified by a
15  majority of the electors at the election:

 1         Article 19, Section 12.  The Wyoming constitution is
 2  gender neutral.

 3 

 4  In this constitution, words in the masculine gender include
 5  the feminine and neuter gender unless the feminine gender
 6  has been specifically set out in the provision. This
 7  section shall not apply to Sections 7, 9 and 13 of Article
 8  21.

10         Section 2.  The Secretary of State shall endorse the
11  following statement on the proposed amendment:

13  The adoption of this resolution would specify that the
14  Wyoming constitution is gender neutral.
