A BILL

1 AN ACT relating to a technical
correction to the teacher
2 seniority adjustment of the school finance
formula; making
3 the technical correction as specified;
specifying
4 implementation and codification procedures;
and providing
5 for an effective date.

7 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1. W.S. 21-13-309(m)(ii)(A)
through (C) is
10 amended to read:

21-13-309. Determination of amount to
be included in
13 foundation
program for each district.

(m) In determining the amount to be included in the
16 foundation program for each district for the
1999-2000
17 school year and for the 2000-2001 school year, the

1 superintendent shall
first compute for each district a
2 district model amount per average daily
membership (ADM) as
3 follows:

(ii) Multiply the district's average daily
6 membership (ADM) for each school level
identified under
7 paragraph (m)(i) of this section by the
following amount
8 for the appropriate prototypical school model
level:

(A) Elementary
school - kindergarten
11 through grade five (5), six thousand one hundred
12 eighty-seven dollars ($6,187.00):;

(I) For the 2000-2001 and
subsequent
15 school years, increased by twenty-three dollars ($23.00).

(B) Middle school - grades six (6)
through
18 eight (8), six thousand one hundred seventy-four
dollars
19 ($6,174.00):;

(I) For the 2000-2001 and
subsequent
22 school years, increased by twenty-one dollars ($21.00).

(I) For the 2000-2001 and
subsequent
6 school years, increased by twenty dollars ($20.00).

8 Section
2. The purpose of this act is to make an
9 adjustment to the dollar amount per average daily
10 membership for each school level so that the teacher
11 seniority adjustment is fully implemented. To implement
12 this act for the 2000-2001 school year, the department of
13 education shall recompute the level of school district
14 entitlement and recapture payments for the 2000-2001 school
15 year which are payable after the effective date of this
16 act.

18 Section 3. In
codifying the law, the legislative
19 service office shall aggregate increases and decreases to
20 the dollar amount per average daily membership (ADM) in
21 W.S. 21-13-309(m)(ii) contained in this act and any other
22 bill enacted into law during the 2001 legislative session,
23 so that W.S. 21-13-309(m)(ii) reflects a single dollar
24 amount per ADM for each school level.

effective immediately upon
3 completion of all acts necessary for a bill to
become law
4 as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the
Wyoming
5 Constitution.
