A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to the Wyoming education trust fund;
 2  clarifying disposition of specified revenues available to
 3  the trust fund; accordingly transferring previous
 4  dispositions; and providing for an effective date.

 5 

 6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 7 

 8         Section 1.  1997 Special Session Laws, Chapter 3,
 9  Section 504(b) is amended to read:

11         Section 504.

13         (b)  Of the revenue deposited into the
14  common school account within the permanent land
15  fund from revenues available under the negotiated
16  easement agreement with the Express Pipeline
17  Partnership in 1996, five million dollars

 1  ($5,000,000.00) shall be accounted for separately
 2  and the interest earned thereon shall not be part
 3  of the distribution from the common school
 4  account under W.S. 21-13-301, and shall be
 5  deposited into the Wyoming trust fund within the
 6  trust and agency fund, as establishedseparate
 7  general fund account maintained by the state
 8  treasurer pursuant to W.S. 21-22-101(a)
 9  21-22-101(b) for distribution in accordance with
10  W.S. 21-22-102.

12         Section 2.  Notwithstanding 1997 Special Session Laws,
13  Chapter 3, Section 504, the state treasurer shall transfer
14  amounts which were deposited prior to the effective date of
15  this act into the Wyoming trust fund within the trust and
16  agency fund pursuant to 1997 Special Session Laws, Chapter
17  3, Section 504(b), into the special general fund account
18  maintained under W.S. 21-22-101(b).  Amounts deposited
19  within the special general fund account shall be available
20  for expenditure in accordance with W.S. 21-22-102.

 1         Section 3.  This act is effective immediately upon
 2  completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
 3  as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
 4  Constitution.
