National teacher certification program.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to the national teacher certification
 2  incentive; modifying program reimbursement levels;
 3  eliminating the delayed repeal of the program; and
 4  providing for an effective date.

 5 

 6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 7 

 8         Section 1.  W.S. 21-7-501(a)(intro) and (b) is amended
 9  to read:

11         21-7-501.  National certification incentive;
12  reimbursement; consultants and mentors.

13 

14         (a)  The professional teaching standards board shall
15  by rule establish a program under which school districts
16  shall reimburse no more than fifty (50) teachers employed
17  by Wyoming school districts the actual cost, not to exceed

 1  two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), of receiving national
 2  certification, not to exceed the national certification fee
 3  established by the national board for professional teaching
 4  standards for the applicable year certification was
 5  received, provided:

 6 

 7         (b)  Upon verification by the professional teaching
 8  standards board that national certification is complete,
 9  the district which employs the teacher shall subject to the
10  limit imposed under subsection (a) of this section,
11  reimburse the teacher for the actual cost, not to exceed
12  two thousand dollars ($2000.00), of obtaining the national
13  certification fee.

15         Section 2.  W.S. 21-7-501(e) is repealed.

16 

17         Section 3.  This act is effective immediately upon
18  completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
19  as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
20  Constitution.
