Importation of bees.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to
agriculture and animals; eliminating the

inspection fee for the importation of bees into this state;
3 and
providing for an effective date.

5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:
6
7 Section 1. W.S. 11-7-302(a) is amended to read:
8
9 11-7-302. Importation of bees, combs or hives.
10
11 (a) It is
unlawful to ship bees on drawn combs, combs
12 or any used beekeeping equipment into this
state unless the
13 combs or equipment are certified and marked
as disease free
14 by an official responsible for apiary
regulations of the
15 state from which the combs or equipment are
being moved.
16 This inspection shall have been conducted
not more than
17 ninety (90) days prior to entry into
Wyoming. Prior to

entry of bees and equipment into this state, the
2
certification of health shall be sent to the department.
3 Any
shipment must be accompanied by the health certificate.
4
Upon entry into this state, an owner must notify the
5
department and request an inspection to be conducted at any
6
specified registered location not later than fourteen (14)
7
days after entry into this state. There
shall be a charge 8
of seventy-five cents ($.75) per colony of bees moved into 9
this state payable to the state of Wyoming upon completion 10
of the
inspection.

12 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2001.
