Physical therapy-repeal of prescription requirement.

A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to physical therapy; repealing requirement
 2  that physical therapy be provided only under authority of a
 3  physician or pursuant to a prescription; making conforming
 4  amendment; and providing for an effective date.

 5 

 6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 7 

 8       Section 1.  W.S. 33-25-102(a)(ii) is amended to read:

 9 

10       33-25-102.  Practice of physical therapy; license
11  required; exceptions; false representations.

12 

13       (a)  From and after January 1, 1962, no individual
14  shall provide physical therapy services nor hold himself
15  out as being able to practice physical therapy in the state
16  of Wyoming unless he is licensed in accordance with the

 1  provisions of this act and such license is in good standing
 2  and has not been suspended or revoked, except nothing in
 3  this act shall:

 4

 5              (ii)  Prohibit students who are enrolled in
 6  educational courses of physical therapy at schools
 7  recognized by the board from performing acts of physical
 8  therapy incidental to their respective courses of study
 9  while under the direct supervision of a licensed physical
10  therapist; who is in compliance with subsection (c) of this
11  section;

13        Section 2.  W.S. 33-25-102(c) is repealed.

14 

15       Section 3.  This act is effective immediately upon
16  completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
17  as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
18  Constitution.
