A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to
public health and safety; prohibiting
2 the
construction of a building near a natural gas well as
3 specified;
and providing for an effective date.

5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:
6
7 Section 1. W.S. 35-9-111(a) is amended to read:
8
9 35-9-111. Certain structures declared
nuisance;
10 repair or demolition; procedure.
11
12 (a) A building
or structure is a public nuisance if
13 it is especially liable to fire and
endangers people,
14 buildings or property in the vicinity. If
the state fire
15 marshal, county fire warden, or the chief of
a fire
16 department or district finds that a building
or structure
17 is especially liable to fire and endangers
people,

buildings or property in the vicinity, the officer shall
2
order the structure to be repaired, torn down or
3
demolished, all materials removed and all dangerous
4
conditions remedied. No building used by the
public as a
5 place of assembly, institution or for any educational
6 purposes shall be constructed within six hundred (600) feet
7 of an existing natural gas well.

9 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2001.
