A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to
alcoholic beverages; specifying
2 penalties
for minors purchasing alcohol; providing for
3
driver's license suspension; and providing for an effective
4
date.

6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:
7
8 Section 1. W.S. 12-6-101(c) is amended to read:
9
10 12-6-101. Sale or possession
prohibited; when
11 possession unlawful; public drunkenness; falsification of
12 identification; penalty; prima facie identification as
13 defense.
14
15 (c) Any person
under the age of twenty-one (21) years
16 who attempts in any manner to purchase
alcoholic or malt

beverages or who falsifies any identification or uses any
2
false identification in order to obtain alcoholic or malt
3
beverages is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction,
4 shall be fined not more than seven hundred fifty
dollars
5 ($750.00), imprisoned for not more than six (6)
months, or
6 both. In addition to the penalty imposed under this
7 subsection and upon a second or subsequent conviction, the
8 division of motor vehicles shall suspend the convicted
9 person's driver's license or nonresident
operating
10 privilegeas
follows:
11
12 (i) Thirty (30) days for asecond conviction;
13
14 (ii) Ninety (90) days for a third conviction or
15 subsequent
conviction.

17 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2001.
