A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to school districts; exempting district
 2  superintendents from certification requirements by the
 3  Wyoming professional teaching standards board; and
 4  providing for an effective date.

 5 

 6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 7 

 8         Section 1.  W.S. 21-7-303(a) and by creating a new
 9  subsection (d) is amended to read:

11         21-7-303.  Certificate or permit required; exception.

12 

13         (a)  Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b),
14  or (c) or (d) of this section, no person shall teach or
15  supervise in a public school in this state and receive
16  compensation therefor out of any public fund who at the

 1  time of rendering such services is not a holder of or a
 2  candidate and qualified for a certificate or permit issued
 3  or to be issued under the laws of this state and the rules
 4  and regulations of the Wyoming professional teaching
 5  standards board pursuant to W.S. 21-2-802.

 6 

 7         (d)  A person may be employed as superintendent of
 8  schools by any district board of trustees without holding
 9  or being qualified for certification by the Wyoming
10  professional teaching standards board pursuant to W.S.
11  21-2-802.

13         Section 2.  This act is effective July 1, 2001.
