A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to the
election code; amending necessary

votes for nominating write-in candidates as specified; and
3 providing
for an effective date.

5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

7 Section 1. W.S. 22-5-215 is amended to read:
8
9 22-5-215. Nomination of partisan
candidates and
10 write-in candidates.
11
12 On each party ballot the candidate or
candidates equal in
13 number to the number to be elected to each
office who
14 receive the largest number of votes shall be
nominated and
15 shall be entitled to have their names
printed on the ballot
16 for the next general election. A write-in
candidate shall
17 not be nominated and shall not be entitled
to have his name

printed on the ballot for the next general election unless
2 he
received at least twenty-five
(25) five
(5) write-in

votes.

5 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2001.
