A BILL

1 AN ACT relating to
school finance; modifying the amount of
2 and
basis for computing the external cost adjustment;
3
providing an appropriation; and providing for an effective
4
date.

6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:
7
8 Section
1. W.S.
21-13-309(o)(i)(A)(I) is amended to
9
read:
10
11 21-13-309. Determination of amount to
be included in
12 foundation program for each district.
13
14 (o) The revised
model amount per ADM for each
15 district computed under subsection (n) of
this section
16 shall be further adjusted for the following.

otherwise specified in this subsection, the adjustments
2
under this subsection shall be determined as specified in
3 the
cost of education study, dated April 1997, and the
4
spreadsheet provided by the consultant performing the study
5
related thereto, both of which are on file in the
6
legislative service office:

8 (i) The amount
shall be adjusted to provide for
9 the
effects of inflation as follows:
10
11 (A) For the
2001-2002 school year, increase
12 the amount by a total percentage of:
13
14 (I) One and three-tenths percent
(1.3%),
for inflation Fourteen and forty-three
hundredths
16 percent
(14.43%) for that school year; plus
17
18 Section
2. For purposes of this act, sixty-six
19 million five hundred thousand dollars
($66,500,000.00) is
20 appropriated from the general fund to the
school foundation
21 program.
