Select Committee on Juveniles Committee Meeting Summary (April 30, 2003)

The Select Committee on Juveniles met on April 30, 2003 in Cheyenne.  The Committee met to consider the duties of the Committee as provided in Section 337 of the 2003 Budget Bill and to discuss how to define the scope of the Committee’s interim studies.  The Committee discussed work done previously by the 2002 Title 14 Revision Subcommittee. 

The Committee divided into three subcommittees: Child Protection/Multidisciplinary Teams, Children’s Legal Representation, and Legal Process.  Each subcommittee will meet approximately three times to discuss the issues assigned to the subcommittee and to develop potential legislation for the upcoming session.  The Committee will meet again on approximately two dates to be determined to consider the work of the subcommittees and to develop its report to the Joint Interim Judiciary Committee, due September 1, 2003.
