FISCAL NOTE (HB0093)

 

This bill contains an appropriation of $30,000 from the SCHOOL FOUNDATION FUND to the Legislative Service Office to fund a study of collocated schools.

 

This bill contains an appropriation of $35,000 from the SCHOOL FOUNDATION FUND to the Legislative Service Office to fund a study of small schools in small districts and small schools in large districts.

 

The above appropriations are effective immediately.

Source of expenditure increase:

 

School district guarantees increased statewide by $24,920,000 in FY05 due to amendments of the small school adjustment, at-risk adjustment, classified staff salary update and longevity adjustment, and the provision of a hold harmless allowance. Reading assessment and intervention expenditures increased statewide by $13,890.

 

Assumptions:

 

The estimates include the 60-ADM count of school year 2003-04, growth in special education and transportation reimbursements, and the inclusion of the 2.3% external cost adjustment found within the budget bill.
