The fiscal impact to the judicial system is indeterminable due to an unknown number of cases.

 

Revenue Increase:

Fiscal notes only quantify impact at the state level.  However, local jurisdictions could see a small revenue increase with the doubling of the minimum fine for not maintaining liability insurance.

 

Assumptions:

No information is available on whether fines assessed have been the minimum or maximum amount or somewhere in-between.  If the maximum fine is always assessed, there would be no increase.

 

In addition, this bill has administrative impact that appears to increase (or decrease) duties or responsibilities of one or more state agencies and may impact agency spending or staffing requirements. As introduced, the bill does not modify any state agency budget or current personnel authorizations.
