Source of Expenditure Increase:

 

General fund disbursements to qualifying physicians, limited to $25,000 annual maximum per qualifying physician.  Based on individual physician volume of deliveries, direct payments are projected to total $2,715,000 for 12 months, with an additional $200,000 for tail coverage as stipulated in the bill.

 

Assumptions:

(1)  Disbursements apply to in-state physicians only.  (Including out-of-state physicians would require $1,165,000 additional appropriation.)

(2)  Medicaid federal match is not available.

 

 

This bill has administrative impact that appears to increase (or decrease) duties or responsibilities of one or more state agencies and may impact agency spending or staffing requirements. As introduced, the bill does not modify any state agency budget or current personnel authorizations.
