This bill contains an appropriation of $960,000 from the BUDGET RESERVE ACCOUNT.

 

The following provides an explanation of how this appropriation (and matching funds) will be expended:

Source of expenditure increase:

 

Loan repayment to a maximum of 10 physicians/dentists for three years in the amount of $30,000/year; loan repayment to a maximum of 10 allied health care professionals for three years in the amount of $10,000/year per professional.

 

Assumptions:

 

Physician, dentist, and allied health care professional loan repayment and matching funds will be expended to support loan repayment to 20 health care providers over a three-year period.  State funding will cover 75 percent of the loan repayment and local communities will provide 25 percent of the loan repayment directly to the provider.

 

This bill has administrative impact that appears to increase (or decrease) duties or responsibilities of one or more state agencies and may impact agency spending or staffing requirements. As introduced, the bill does not modify any state agency budget or current personnel authorizations.
