FISCAL NOTE (SF0064)

This bill could potentially generate revenue through the sixty dollar ($60.00) filing fee for each petition filed with the court.  However, it is not possible to determine the amount of revenue generated since the number of applicants is not known.  Any increase in revenue assumes a sixty dollar ($60.00) filing fee for each petition filed by a person who has pleaded guilty or nolo contendere or been convicted of a misdemeanor crime for an expungement of the record of conviction for the purposes of restoring firearm rights lost pursuant to federal law.

This bill has administrative impact that appears to increase (or decrease) duties or responsibilities of one or more state agencies and may impact agency spending or staffing requirements. As introduced, the bill does not modify any state agency budget or current personnel authorizations.

The following state agencies will be asked to provide their estimate of the administrative fiscal impact prior to the first committee meeting held to consider the bill:

Attorney General

District Attorney for Judicial District 1

District Attorney for Judicial District 7
