Catch Title:       Air taxi service-repeal.

 

Subject:  Repeals obsolete provisions relating to the Aeronautics Division of the Department of Transportation.

 

 

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Under current law, the Aeronautics Division is responsible for:

 

·        Certifying air taxi service providers in the State; and

 

·        Administering air search and rescue programs in the State.

 

·        This act repeals the requirement that air taxi service providers obtain certification from the Aeronautics Division and the Division's authority to administer air search and rescue programs.

 

Comments:

 

· House Bill 143, if enacted into law, would authorize the Military Department to administer air search and rescue programs in the State.
