Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Under current law, certain court records, including records of testimony and proceedings are required to be maintained for 24 months after entry of final judgment, sentence or order on appeal if an appeal is taken.

 

·        This bill shortens the time those records have to be maintained from 24 months to 12 months.
