Catch Title:       Littering on highways-body fluids.

 

Subject:  Authorizes an enhanced penalty for littering as specified.

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Under current law,  littering is a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 6 months, a fine of not more than $750.00, or both.

 

·        This bill increases the penalty for littering, if the litter involves disposal of a container with body fluids along a highway, from the standard misdemeanor penalty to imprisonment for not more than 9 months, a fine of not more than $1,000.00, or both.
