Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Imposes a 10 year vesting period upon receipt of nonduty related disability retirement benefits under the law enforcement officer retirement plan;

 

·        Excepts from vesting requirements those law enforcement officers transferring retirement from local policemen pension plans to the state plan;

 

·        Sets partial disability benefits under the state highway patrol, game and fish warden and criminal investigator retirement system at 50% of the highest average salary, which was previously set at 42.5% for duty-connected partial disability and 35% for ordinary partial disability.
