Catch Title:       Developmental disabilities program.

 

Subject:  Specifies duties of department of health division on developmental disabilities and provides for a select committee on development disabilities.

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

This act:

 

·        Provides for a division on developmental disabilities within the department of health;

 

·        Requires annual reports from the developmental disabilities division to the legislature on services to clients with developmental disabilities;

 

·        Requires the director of the department of health to ensure that all rules are adopted in accord with the Administrative Procedure Act;

 

·        Establishes a select committee on developmental disability programs, specifies membership of the committee;

 

·        Directs the select committee to study Wyoming's and other states' programs for persons with developmental disabilties, to identify system changes to improve delivery of services and to sponsor necessary legislation;

 

·        Appropriates $35,000.00 to LSO for the select committee's work.

 

Comments:

 

·        This act requires the select committee to report its conclusions and recommendations to the legislature and governor by October 1, 2004.
