2004 NCLB Student Assessment / Education Accountability Task Force

The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) Student Assessment/Education Accountability Task Force was established by the 2003 Legislature to review statewide student assessment and accountability as necessary to meet federal requirements under NCLB. Based upon Task Force reports and recommendations, the 2004 Legislature continued the Task Force and directed the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Task Force to continue development of modifications to the statewide student assessment and the establishment of statewide accountability systems responding to federal NCLB requirements. Recommendations are to be submitted to the Joint Education Interim Committee in sufficient time for consideration by the 2005 Legislature. In addition, the Task Force and State Superintendent are direct to develop a pilot assessment for implementation in School Year 2004-2005
