FISCAL NOTE

This bill transfers the adult basic education (ABE) program and the general educational development (GED) program from the Department of Workforce Services to the Community College Commission, effective July 1, 2006.

The transfer of these programs from the Department of Workforce Services to the Community College Commission is reflected in the Governor's and the Joint Appropriations Committee's recommended budget for the 2007-08 biennium. The funding and positions for these programs ($2,331,386 GF, $1,825,309 FF, 2 FTE) are included in the Community College Commission recommended budget for the 2007-08 biennium in HB0001.
