Source of Revenue Increase:
Civil penalties assessed and collected for violations of W.S. 35-9-101 thru W.S. 35-9-130.
Assumptions:
Unless violations are repeated or especially dangerous to public safety it is assumed minimal penalties would be assessed. The assumption for each is based upon the following: Five cases of flagrant/dangerous violations at $1000/ea=$5000. Repeat violations of less life threatening nature 30/yr x $100/ea=$3000. Total revenue increase with these assumptions would be approximately $8000. The Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety is also making these assumptions knowing there are currently more violations each year than has been accounted for above but expect a deterrent affect to lessen the frequency.
The fiscal impact to the judicial system is indeterminable due to an unknown number of cases.
