Gaming commission.

FISCAL NOTE

This bill contains an appropriation of $150,000 from the GENERAL FUND to the proposed state gaming commission.  This appropriation is effective immediately.

Source of revenue increase:  License fees

Assumptions:

It is assumed there will be revenue increases based upon the sale of licenses. Since license fees will be set by rule and regulation, an accurate estimate of this revenue cannot be determined at this time.

Source of expenditure increase: Operation of the proposed gaming commission

Assumptions:

It is assumed that the above appropriation will fund one year of operation (FY 2008), and $150,000 per year would be needed to fund the commission in FY 2009 and FY 2010. However, in FY 2009 and FY 2010 license fees should be used to cover expenditures.

On its own, this bill will not result in a significant revenue increase from background check fees or require additional personnel and/or funding to perform these background checks.  However, passage of multiple bills of this type may result in a cumulative administrative impact to the Division of Criminal Investigation.
