National Board Certified Teacher Payment Reimbursement Program Report.

The Reimbursement Program first established by 2006 Laws, Chapter 37, Section 5, requires the Department of Education to report district expenditure of program funds for school years 2006-2007 and 2007-2008.

Career and Technical Education.

Committee interim assignments included a two-year study on the development of state policy on career and technical education in Wyoming and preparation of high school students for a full-range of post secondary options.  An MPR report provides initial information in approaching and planning this study effort.

Statewide Student Assessment (PAWS).

The Statewide Student Assessment (PAWS-Proficiency Assessments for Wyoming Students) responds to both state (W.S. 21‑2‑304(a)(v) and (vi)) and federal (NCLB/AYP) requirements.  WDE will report school year 2006-2007 assessment administration as well as directions for school year 2007-2008 assessment administration.

Governor's Community College Study Commission.

The Commission was established by the Governor to study the Wyoming community college system.  Committee interim assignments included a two-year  review  of   community  college   funding,

structure and governance following receipt of the Commission report.

EXECUTIVE SESSION.

Allocation-Expenditure Study.

As part of and a follow-up to 2005 block grant model recalibration efforts, the Legislature (2006 Laws, Chapter 37, Section 8) directed a two-year study on changes in school district expenditures following implementation of the recalibrated block grant model, the impact of education strategies underlying the recalibrated block grant model on district education programs and the programmatic uses by districts of resources made available under the recalibrated funding model.  Picus & Associates was contracted to conduct this study effort and will report preliminary findings based upon school year 2006-2007 expenditure data.
