Source of expenditure decrease:
Savings on costs associated with plan review fees charged to the School Facilities Commission in “local jurisdictions” as defined and allowed in WS 35-9-121.
Assumptions:
Proposed legislation will allow for plan review on state buildings (including those in local jurisdictions) to be done under the discretion of the State Fire Marshal. The Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety does not charge plan review fees on state projects funded through the general fund. In FY 2009-2010, we identified approximately $160,000,000 for capital construction projects that will be completed in “local jurisdictions”. The savings are the fees associated with plan review if plan reviews are conducted by the state rather than local jurisdiction.
