FISCAL NOTE

The Wyoming Tourism Board was created as its own entity (separate from the Wyoming Business Council) during the 2007 legislative session (2007 session laws, chapter 5).

The film industry financial incentive program was also created during the 2007 legislative session, to be administered by the Wyoming Business Council (2007 session laws, chapter 73). In that legislation, $1 million was appropriated from the General Fund to the Wyoming Business Council for purposes of providing financial incentive reimbursements to the entertainment industry. Unexpended funds from this appropriation will not revert on June 30, 2008. As of November 19, 2007, none of the $1 million appropriated to this program have been expended or are otherwise obligated.

This bill transfers the administration of the film industry financial incentive program from the Wyoming Business Council to the Wyoming Tourism Board. All unexpended funds not otherwise obligated for this program would be transferred from the Wyoming Business Council to the Wyoming Tourism Board.

The 2009-10 standard budget request contains $1 million funding for the film industry financial incentive program within the Wyoming Tourism Board (agency 066).
