Source of Revenue Increase: This bill will require approximately 180 well drilling and pump installation companies to apply for licensing. At this time, there are three companies who have voluntarily become certified. The current application fee is $25.00.
Assumptions: After the initial year, there will be approximately ten new companies applying for licenses each year. Most companies currently performing this job already have five years experience prior to July, 2008 and will be exempt from the testing and certification fees for the period of this impact statement. Certification may be obtained until June 30, 2009 (through FY09) and is good for three years; therefore, most contractors will attempt to certify before this date. The time period for this impact statement does not capture the renewal fees for applicants. These fees will be $200.00 per applicant every three years or $12,000/yr.
