Source of revenue increase (decrease): Increases in gasoline and special fuels taxes with an equal amount of severance taxes diverted from the General Fund to be distributed in the same manners as the fuel taxes (in the same proportions to the same recipients).

 

The above estimates are based on fuel tax revenue projections provided by the Department of Transportation.

 

This bill has an effective date of January 1, 2009. The first fuel tax increase goes into effect on January 1, 2009 (middle of FY 2009), the second fuel tax increase goes into effect on January 1, 2010 (middle of FY 2010),and the third fuel tax increase goes into effect on January 1, 2001 (middle of FY 2011). Please note that the full 5 cent increase will not be in place for a full fiscal year until FY 2012.
