Tax refund to elderly and disabled.

08LSO-0213.L3

FISCAL NOTE

This bill contains an appropriation of $1,500,000 from the GENERAL FUND.

Discussion of appropriation:

We do not have enough information on age, disability and income to determine an exact number of clients or expenditures. However, based on expected expenditures for refunds of $5,400,000 for the 07-08 biennium, and based on the Governor's recommendation for the 09-10 biennium for a proposed budget of $6,240,000 for refund payments (object code 0602), we project a 15% increase in expenditures or $810,000. Due to the fact we cannot determine an exact number of clients or expenditures we estimate $1,500,000 would be adequate.
